Lunch is included This one-day workshop, will explore the basic science of medical marijuana as a new frontier for addressing chronic pain, stress, anxiety, and depression, all factors in the rehabilitation of patients with a wide range of diagnoses and conditions. Through a review of the available scientific literature, participants will learn about the indications, contraindications and precautions for cannabis use among different patient populations. Suggestions for how to include a discussion of cannabis into history taking and patient education will be offered, and state laws and procedures will be discussed. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to: -explain the current state of the literature on medical cannabis -integrate knowledge of the endocannabinoid system in various medical conditions -describe various methods of using cannabis including the pros and cons of each method -explain state laws and procedures for accessing & using CBD, THC, and other cannabinoids
